WANTED, BETTER FARMING.
AND MORE PEOPLE FOR LAND,
MR. AY. P. REEVES' ADVICE
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.)
XAPIER, this day. An increase in the agricultural population, and the cutting up of large estates was advocated by the Hon. \V.
Pember Reeves. Mr. Reeves said thatall was well with Xew Zealand, hut trouble was coming if the land products were not increased.
jHe had seen tens of thousands of acres of land under alleged cultivation that I wore not yielding half what they should .' do. He drew attention to tlie quality iof weeds, native and otherwise, allowed ,to grow. He said that men who could j not do justice to the large areas of land j should not have more than they can j farm properly. To make the country I more comfortable agriculture must in- ! crease and the weeds disappear. He | could not join in the howl against the ! motor car. because it was a blessing to i the man in the country.
