CAMPBELL'S
j - .. <To the Ediror.l J Sir.—ln your, local news column i appears a somewhat erroneous statement, and in all fairness to the' Public j Works Department I desire to give a j correction. Admitted, as stated, "for [ s>cme time water from the cookhouse on jthe hill hes been allowed to run down the j face of the cliff' , ; but to say it had I formed a pool of stagnant water near the 'houses, or,' indeed, at all, is wrong. Stagnant wat«r at the • foot of the hill was there before, the cookhouse was put in commission, and. considering the position arid nature of the ground, it can only be ■ reasonably expected. It is remarkable that any residents living near, and the nearest would, be easily a . quarter of a mile away from, the foot of j the hill, should allege they have been ! troubled by mosquitoes as coming from this undesired water, whereas those living in the camp have had little or no annoyance of the pest. —I am, etc.. j FIAT JUSTITIA.
