I « MORXINGSIDE MEETING. j A fair number of Morningside residents gathered together last evening in ! Hirst's Hall, to hear the objects of the j New Zealand Natives' Association ; explained. Mr. L. K. Rhodes, Mayor of i Mt. Albert, presided. ! The Mayor expressed the opinion t'iat j the objectives were worthy of support. :He said that honest, constructive eriti : fism was always of advantage to any municipal body, and lie felt that the , association would level constructive, not j destructive criticism. He spoke of trad« I within the Empire and the necessary j .-support of local industries. Town plan I ning was another object they could have !in view. The president said that ' only yesterday they had received : inquiries for branches in outlying towns. ! one from New Plymouth and another I from Rotorua. A meeting will shortly be held in the Ponsonby district, and. judging from reports, a strong branch, i» cure to be formed there*
