AN OBSCURE GENIUS.

HELPING HAND BEADY. LONDON, March 3. The Agent-General for Queensland. Mr. John Huxham, has requested Scotland Yard to assist in a search for Charles Shepherd, an Australian, who was last seen showing pictures on the pavement. The man is known to have been living of late in a state of poverty. The attention of critics was attracted by one of his paintings, which was shown at an exhibition of Dominion pictures. They are convinced he is a genius, and are anxious to helo him.— j (A. and N.Z.)
