HIDE AND SKIN AUCTION.
VERY SMALL OFFERINGS. Bidding was not brisk at the hide and skin auction this afternoon in the Chamber of Commerce. A number of lots were passed in, bids having failed to meet sellers' ideas of values. Offerings at both hides and sheep skins were unugually small to-day, but the poor de : mand prevented any advance in quotation takinjr place.
Sheepskins.—Quotations were: Full to three-quarter, wool lid to 121 d per In, quarter to half wool, 8M to 101 per lb, poorer quality. 4rl to fid per lb, pelts and lamb skins 3/ to 4/3 each, other skins. 6/ to 7/ each.
Hides. —A number of lines of hides offered wer? passed in. Quotations were:—Tleavv ox. TJd to B}d per ]b. cow, 5d to 6d. calf skins passed in at od. kip sold at 6id per lb.
