A SEA PRISON.
XJGHTKEEFERS' LONG VIGIL. RELIEF EFFORTS FAIL. PARIS, February 28. Two ragged and half-starved men have been marooned in the lighthouse off the coast of Finisterre. One has been on duty since December 2 and the other since January 14. The usual period is 10 days. * The motor which worked the revolving light has broken down, and an unrecognisable glow is now the only warnin? to shipping approaching the coast. Several attempts have been made to relieve the two men and to land food at the lighthouse for them, but all have been frustrated by the wild seas. The authorities are most anxious regarding the fate of vessels and the safety of the marooned men.— (A. and N.Z.) j
