TAKAPTUNA ROADING.

(To the Editor.) Sir, —Re your publication under date sth February, "Takapuna Roading, Concrete or Bitumen, Council's Recommendation Adopted," kindly allow mc to emphatically deny the "last paragraph of your report, viz., "Following a general discussion a resolution endorsing the council's policy in favour of concrete formation was passed, a section of the gathering dissenting." The Mayor, who was chairman of his own meeting, called for a show of hands for and against the resolution, which was lost by a large majority, although the Mayor declared it carried. I immediately protested, and asked for the numbers for and against the resolution,, but received no satisfaction. The council's recommendation was not adopted at this meeting, and I challenge the Mayor's decision in reference to the resolution.—l am, etc., DISSATISFIED RATEPAYER.
