—- —. ■ I RESULTS IN BROKEN . LEG. I A DAREDEVIL'S WATERLOO. j — ! It is a far cry from Niagara Falls to Queen Street, Auckland; and fate was never in a more ironical mood when she | took it into her fickle head that the man who came through unscathed from' shooting the fall in a barrel should slip I on an orange peel in the main street,of Auckland and break his leg. I An innocent-looking piece of orange peel, (lung on the sidewalk a few minutes previously, by- a sturdy little tatterdemalion who had invested a few of his hard earned coppers in the Island fruit, was the cause of all the trouble. Mr. ' Albert Leech was swinging along up Queen Street this afternoon when his foot slipped on the orange peel, and lie came down heavily on the footpath. It was at once seen that he was badly hurt, and passers-by who went to his assistance, found that his left leg was badly injured. Medical aid was Secured, and Mr. Leech was sent to the hospital with a broken leg.
