FASTING CONTEST.
FRENCH V. GERMAN. BERLIN, February 22. A huge crowd applauded Jolly, the German hunger champion, on the completion of bis first week in the attempt to beat the French champions lasting record of forty-three days. Jolly is confined in a glass case, where he reads Goethe, and listens-in to wireless. He has already smoked a thousand cigarettes and drunk ninety-two ' bottles of mineral water.
