MAIN THAMES-WAIKATO ROAD.
PIAKO COUNTY PORTION*. (Trom Our Own Correspondent.) MORRINRVILLE. Saturday. The main Thames-Waikato Road througli the Piako County i.s at present in a very rough state, and apparently there is little prospect of any work of a permanent nature being carried out in the near future. Some of the riding members who have a main highway running through their ridings consider ! that it would be unfair for them to . raise loans to permanently surface their I sections of the road because it was likely the main highways would soon be maintained out of the general fund of the county. Should this eventuate and one riding carried a loan for the highway improvement, it would be paying for the upkeep of the whole road as well a< paying interest on the loan.
