A total of 27 bands are competing, 12 in the A grade, nice in the B grade, and six in the" C grade. The judges are Mr. F. J. Ricketu. conductor of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders' Band at tie Exhibition, who judges the tests, and Mr. W. 5. King ofChristchurch. who judges the solos. m The B grade quickstep competition was decided in the afternoon before 6000 sc-ectators.
