TWO YOUNG MEN ARRESTED. 1 SYDNEY. January 20. i George C'anale (21) and Thomas Edwin J Sutton (211 wore remanded at the ; ! Central Police Court on a charge of hay- i ing. while armed with a revolver and ! sandbag. a«s>atilted Georpe Charles Gollen. I Mayor of Auburn, with intent to rob him of 32 keys and other articles. C'anale and .Sutton were also remanded on £100 bail on a charge of having ! broken and entered the residence of lOollen and of having stolen jewellery, J worth £00. j Th police prosecutor, in asking for a ] ! remand to Parraniatta Court, said that jGolien was proprietor of a picture show, i and lip usually took the money home in ! ja motor car. On the night of the alleged ' assault accused bailed him up when he arrived at his garage. One of the men, it i «a« said, had a loaded revolver. ] "Put up your hands and hand over, ! your keys!" was the command given to i Ji.ollen. who ignored it. Assistance was railed, and the two men ran away. After the arrest of the accused, the > ' police prosecutor added, a loaded revolver jand a sandbag were found. It was be- i I lieved that one of the accused was a ! former member of the American Navy.
