CRICKET IN AUSTRALIA. SYDNEY January 27. The Sheffield Shield cricket match, New South Wales v. Victoria, ended today in a victory for the former by an innings and 00 runs. Victoria in their second innings made 322 (Ponsford 138. Woodfull 126). Everett took five wickets for 01 runs, Mailey two for 04. Ponsford played a fast, ehanceless innings, scoring rapidly. Woodfull was the only other batsman to withstand the bowling. He played slow, careful cricket. Everett bowled magnificently, the majority of the visitors finding him unplayable. At Brisbane, the match, Queensland v. South Australia, was concluded. Queensland's second innings yielded 171 runs I Mayes 36). Scott took four wickets for 34 runs, A. Richardson four for 32.
