GOOD RUSSIAN GOLD.

TO SPEND IN ENGLAND. LONDON, January 27. Several million pounds' worth of i I gold bullion has arrived from Leningrad, j ; to be deposited as security for consider- j able orders to British firms in connection with the supply of textile machinery and plant for Russia.— (Reuter.) A delegation sent by the Soviets to the Norfh of England to buy the world's best machinery for the manufacture of textiles was not permitted to buy any because they wanted credit. We of course at once heard that John Bull was a fool, and that the poor suffering Bolsheviki would buy their machinery in Fra*fe and America. The supposition is that Russia has discovered that no one can make machinery like John Bull makes it. and has returned with the one thing necessary —not words.
