A VIEW OF MYERS PARK FROM THE MAIN ENTRANCE. Charming peep over Myers Park from Upper Queen Street, within a few minutes of the busiest part of Auckland City. Until Sir Arthur bought the land and presented it to the City this valley was a weedy slum bordered by some of the most unsavoury dwellings in the City; to-day the lawn, tree, shrub and garden have transformed it into one of our prettiest parks, and the whole neighbourhood has been sweetened. The children are specially interested in the park; there they have an ideal playground. In the foreground is the Myers Kindergarten (another of Sir Arthur's benefactions), and across the valley can be seen the Georgian building occupied by the Order of the Good Shepherd, an interesting part of whose work is the Campbell Creche, where many mothers leave their babies while they go off to work.
