A SAD FATALITY.

BABY GIRL'S DEATH. A baby girl nine months old, fell out of its bassinette yesterday afternoon and died from the effects of the injuries sustained. The baby's mother, Mrs. Mary Millar Blair, is paying a visit to her father, Mr. A. Boyd, at Hillsboro'. When she went into her bedroom at about two o'clock to see if the child was awake, Mrs. Blair found it had wriggled out of the bassinette and was hanging with its feet touching the floor. The gown had caught on the bassinette. Dr. F. W. Gordon was called in and upon examination found the child's neck was broken. An inquest was held this morning by Mr. D. A. Sutherland, district coroner, when the evidence confirmed these statements, and a verdict was returned accordingly. Mr. and Mrs. Blair reside at Seddon Street, Pukekohe.
