Mrs. O. T. J. Alpers, -wife of Mr. Justice Alpers, and family, who have been spending the holidays at the Rakaia Huts> have left on" a visit to Dunedin.

Miss Eleanor Pharazyn the only daughter of Ifrs. Gerald Fitzgerald, who has been for some years in London, is returning to New Zealand. Mrs. Cootes and Mrs. Brabant, two well-known Auckland croquet players, are visiting Wellington to take part in the tournament.

Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Watkine and their daughter, of Mount Eden, are at present spending a holiday at Opotiki, as the guests of Dr. and Mrs. Forbes.

Dr. J. Clinch and Mrs. Clinch, of Auckland, who have been travelling in Europe during the past twelve monthe,' arrived back in Auckland yesterday by the Arawa.

Mr. and Mrs. Marples- of Liverpool, arrived in Auckland yesterday by the Arawa and were met by mends. They are going to Te Awamutu, where ther will be the guests of Mrs. Marples' sister.

Mrs. Buckleton, of Oriental Bay, "Wellington gave an afternoon tea at her home as a farewell to Mrs. MeGibbin, who leaves shortly for Christchurch, where her husband is taking , up the position of manager of the Bank of New Zealand.
