THAMES JOCKEY CLUB. SECOND DAY'S RESULTS. LE CHOUCAS WINS PRESIDENT'S. The second day of the Thames Jockey ' Club's meeting was held at the Takapuna , Jockey Club's course to-day. The track was in good order, and there was a large attendance. Results: — THAMES HANDICAP HURDLES of 200 , soys. Bahadur was the early pilot from Irish Jig, Bustler, Prince Rufus, and Kendal, and except that Irish Jig had run up to Bahadur in the straight, there was no change in the positions. Bustler and Irish .Tig were , the leaders along the back from Prince Kufus, Bahadur, and Kendal. Bustler had ' drawn clear of Irish Jig as they crossed the top, while Prince Rufus was moving up fast. Bustler was the first to turn for home from Prince Rufus and Irish Jig. At the 1 last hurdle Bustler was just in front of , Prince Rufus. and in taking the obstacle ran across Prince Rufus. Going on Bustler • won by threequarters of a length from ' Prince Rufus, which beat Irish Jig by five ; : lengths. Kendal was next. Bahadur pulled • up. Appellant. Berinthia, Maveelish, Mangapiko. and Foreign Fancy next. Berinthia and Winsome Boy led across the top. Miss Ford. Appellant, Cherry Girl and Festina Lente being next. Winsome Boy was first to reach the straight from Berinthia. Mavec--1 llsh. Miss Ford nnd Appellant, and in the ; run to the judge Winsome Boy won by a '. length from Maveelish, which beat Miss Ford by a head. Appellant. Archeno. Fes- ' Tina Lente and Berinthia were next. Crossing the : top" King Pot. Exactly, and Day Guard . were racing in line, with Le Choueas. 1 Quinette, and Cawnpore nest. King I'ot 1 was the first to turn for home, from ) Exactly, Day Guard. Le Choueas. Quinette. . Cawnpore. and Nancy Lee. A great finish resulted. Le f'honens, Nnney Dee nnd Quinette challenging King Pot a few yards from I the post. De Choucns petting the decision by a neck from Nancy Lee and Quinette. which dead heated for second place. King 1 Pot was fourth, with nay Guard. Exactly. Con-Tinore, and Civility next. Time, ; 1.10 4-5. ! COUNTY HANDICAP, of loOsovs. Seven furlongs. I—QUTNCOMA, br g, 4yrs. Quin Abbey —Teeoma ("Messrs. Roulston Bros.), B.7—Keesing 1 1 3—KILLUTE, br g. syrs (Mr. J. W. Watters), B.l—Bagby 2 ; 2—HANGAWERA, b g, oyrs (Mr. S. G. Dobson), 7.lo—McTavish 3 I Also started: (6) Queen Comet 7.10, (5) : Praiseworthy 7.9, (4) Homai 7.7. KUlute was first out, followed by Hanga- [ wera, but as they raced along the back, [ Praiseworthy went to the front, followed ,by Hangawera, Killute, Quincoma and ' Homai. Praiseworthy was joined by Quin- • coma about four furlongs from home, and • the pair led across the top. and into the t straight from Killute, Homai and Hangawera. Quincoma went on to win by threequarters of a length from Killute, who beat Hangawera by two lengths. Homai and Praiseworthy were next. Time, 1.29 3-5.
