■ « 'Bargain Day,' Monday, A.B.C.Kpe.Rd. (Ad) Niagara arrives from Sydney at 5 a.m, on Monday. Alarama' left Sydney yesterday and i 3 due here on Tuesday. Final of the Sanders Cup trials on the Waitemata this afternoon. The French steamer Sierentz arrived to-day from Texas with 4500 tons of sulphur. A New York Prisons Commission reports that the criminals of America today are its young people. No fewer than ten juveniles appeared before the magistrate this morning on various charges, principally theft. 17,000 gallons of sea water per nour are being pumped night and day from the foundation work on the old Thames Hotel site. The number of unemployed on the waiting list of the Labour Department to-day was 183. During the week the Department found private employment for 32 men. Railway embankment across Judge's Bay will not interfere with the beach in front of the rowing sheds. A series of openings in the embankment is provided for in the plans. Several of the Auckland teams are doing well in the full-rink match, at the Dominion mteting in Dunedin. When play ceased yesterday three of the H sections were headed by Aucklanders. Public misgivings respecting the Par. Nell Baths declared by Railway and Public Works officers to be unfounded, as full provision is being made for an adequate supply of water to the baths, as at present.
