GLOOMY STATISTICS. LONDON, January 12Many gloomy statistics followed the publication of the adverse balance in the Board of Trade returns. The first _nine days of 1926 show that, the national expenditure exceeded the revenue by about £1,225,000, thus increasing the deficit to oyer £125,000,000. The outstanding floating debt on January 9 was over £818,000,000, which i 9 £18,000,000 less U.an a year ago, but an increase of nearly £76,000,000 compared with the beginning of the current year(A. and N-Z.
