FRENCH IN SYRIA.
DAMASCUS BOMBARDED. VILLAGES SHELLED. PARIS. December 0. A dispatch from. Damascus says that the French again bombarded the gardens in the south-oast of the city, where the rebels persistently muster. , The residents in several villages within a five-mile radius of Damascus have been severely punished. A message from Beirut says that the French are hurrying troops to Damascus. The situation is grave.—(Renter.)
