P. Conway has taken in hand a colt by Surveyor from Hessian. . .-:. .-.;-. , .... - Mr. D. Barry has hooked accommodation for four horses at E. J. Rae's stables and will probably bring Automne, Automaton. Ngawati and Threadneedle to Auckland. Lucullent will be at the : same stables. Queen Arch, which won the Ayondale Guineas, appears to be getting. through her work nicely at Ellerslie and Should' be on the winning list before long. This morning she went well over six furlongs. Royal Tea, which raced well at .Takapuna, continues to please inhis work at Ellerslie, and hy the time the A.E.G. meeting comes round he should be an improved colt. He was given a "nice working gallop this morning and 'went well. Cawnpore, which raced -well at "the Ellerslie and Takapuna meetings, looks to be improved as the /result, of his efforts, and probably- lie -may -be. seen to better advantage before -the season is much further There' is no doubt that he is promising sort. The inquiry into the accidents at the Takapuna meeting recently were concluded, by the judicial committee of the ffiftfeapuna, • Jockey. Railway Handicap, and also has been paid u«j for in the Palmerston North Stakes. R(j£ent advices from Wanganui state thkt there is every likelihood of her contesting the Palmerston North Stakes. Hdwever, Mr. Currie has Deluge also in' th| Railway Handicap, and if he is well should run a good race, if started. |,oyal Irish bears a bright and healthy appearance, and probably this good hdlse may again be seen at his best before the summer meetings are concluded. It is a long, time since he saluted the judge; in fact he went through the whole of last season with«,tu£ obtaining a winning bracket, though 4ie''|was placed on three occasions.

Only eight remain in the Great Northern Foal Stakes, but it will' be interesting to,,see bow Commendation •gets on with Lysander. Commendation beat him in theVWfellesley, Stakes,, but thb manner in, wnjch Lysander. won the A.R.C Welcome fetak'es' showed thaV-he was greatly improved.
