JOB CONTROL BY FIREMEN. A GLARING INSTANCE. (Received 10.30 a.m.) MELBOURNE, this day. The delay caused in the sailing: of the Manuka constitutes one of the most glaring instances of job control which has 'occurred for many months. When sailing time arrived. 1G firemen were raissinp. Later all the firemen with the exception of one returned, and when it wns suggested that another should be signer! on in his stead, one of his .friends declared he would leave the ship. An official of the company and one of the crew had to engage, a taxi and searcli for liim, eventually locating him and persuading him to return to the ship.
