XO CHANGE IS DUKEDIX. With reference to the reported reduction in retail meat prices In Auckland reported on page 16. a Presi Association telegram from Dunedln states :— ■ "The butchers here say that there is no Immediate prospect of a local cut. The drop in values is only a matter of the last two weeks, and has affected medium rather than prime cattle. The last four months period was one of the worst in the hlstor? of the iMinedln trade. The drop in Burnside values was largely due to the fact that many butchers had bought outside, so that It was not indicative of the condition of the market. At the same time an early drop in fat stock values is anticipated, * with an equivalent concession to the public.''
