That -vrill carry him ove: Christmas. j REMANDED FOR SENTENCE. , Something was heard about a fight between free labourers and strikers on the steamer Devon at the Central wharf on Thursday morning during the hearing of the charge of theft of a suitcase and contents valued at £4 4/6, the property of Charles Georgi, preferred against | ■John Eagle (20). j j Evidence was given by two free lab- ! ourers. who were paid off the Devon on Thursday morning. Some of the strikers," they said, came on board when the free labourers were packing up their 1' gear. A free fight ensued amidships, j Accused was seen to pick two suitcases up and put them over the vessel's side. One only was recovered. Later, ac- ' cused was identified as the man who threw them overboard. He was then ' arrested by Detective McHugh. ' Eagle, who pleaded not guilty, was i remanded until Monday for sentence. ' = !
