His Excellency the Governor-General has approved of the award of the Colonial Auxiliary Forces Officers Decoration to Lieutenant-Colonel J. a. Elliott, M.D., New Zealand Medical Corps, Wellington. yi Mr. W. Wallace, chairman of the; Auckland Hospital Board, and Mrs. Wallace left last evening for Hastings. Later they will go to Wellington, where, on Wednesday, Mr. Wallace will attend a, meeting of the Hospital Boards' Assoelation. A farewell social was tendered Con-, stable Spellman, Mrs. Spellman ami, family at Coromandel on the eve of bii departure after a residence of sixteen years. Mr. J. W. Barker, on behalf 01 residents, presented Mr. Spellman with an illuminated address and a library oi "Pioneers" of Coromandel Mining, a» a an arm chair. Grand Hotel guests include Mr. and Mrs. C.
