No female shall be employed on seam opening by hand, or at more than four hours in any one day; A casual worker (employed for less than three days) is to be paid at the rate of 2/4 per hour. SHIRT AND SILK WORKERS. Auckland tailoresses and other female clothing trade employees alsq have a new award. Hours of work are fixed at. 44 per week.. Conditions and rates ,of pay for apprentices are similar to those in the award referred'to above. Minimum rates for journeywomen are fixed at £2 5/ per week. Overtime rates as in the annrd above. Piecework shall not be .allowed. The award comes into force on December 21, and, continues for two years. AUCKLAND TAILORESSES. . , The clauses in dispute in a new award for Auckland tailoresses have been settled on the lines of the new factory tailoresses' award. Terms of apprenticeship are similar to those of the awards above. After the eighth period of cix months, /wages' are to be paid at the rate of '£2*6/ per week.. The award will operate for two years, as from Decem* ber2l.
