MEETING AT ROTORUA. ■ / (From Our Own Correspondent.) . ROTORUA, Friday. A meeting of Rotorua motorists was held last night under the auspices of the Auckland Automobile Association, when Mr. R. tE; Champtaloup (service officer) attended to hear the views of local motor enthusiasts as to improvement of motoring throughout the district. • " . The Mayor (Mr. C. H. Clinkard) presided. Mr. Champtaloup said that the association was fully, alive to the fact that : t was a necessity for the roads around Rotorua to be in excellent- condition, aa at present even a very small proportion of Auckland motorists visited Rotorua on account of the fact that they did not know whether they would get" over <he Hill Road or not. He (the -weaker) was practically assured that the road would be an "all weather road" by next winter, and in two' years' time it would be. metalled throughout. (Applause.) . The. amount of tyre tax and duty paid to the Government in 1024 was £010.000, and the amount of license *pps paid for the first quarter of 1925 was €293.000. W. T. Pakes was elected apent in Tlrvtorvia for the A.A.A. The advisory committee for Rotorua was elected a*e Mlovrs: The Mayor. Messrs. TT. B. Ford v . Nesbit. la Trobe Hill, and ,R. \ good response was made + -o the appeal for members.
