STIIX « GOING STRONG." CAMBRIDGE'S "GRAND OLD MAN." (From Our Own Correspondent.) ] CAMBRIDGE, Tuesday. Mr George Clark, the., founder of the firm of Messrs. Geo. E. Clark and Sons, of Cambridge and Hamilton, eelehrated his eighty-fifth birthday on Saturday last. Mr. ClaTk may well be termed the "Grand Old Man" of the Waikato, having resided here for upwards of half a century, during which time he has reld many responsible positions. Although now in his eighty-sixth year, Mr. Clark is. still principal of the firm which he founded, and gives personal attention' to" the business. He may be seen at his business every morning at about 8.30, leaving at 5 p.m. each day. There is rioneed for this, but Mr. Clark has always been a worker, and enjoys ! business. His one special hobby is bowls, to which he devotes two half-days each week, summer and winter alike. Despite his great age, he is an adept at the game. Only just recently he was a member .of tha -winning team in the Labour Day tournament. Mr. Clark enjoys excellent health, and his faculties are keen. On the occasion of his birthday he received numerous congratulations from all over the province.
