HONOURED BY THE KING. LONDON, December 1. Thp newspapers applaud the honour awarded to Sir Austen Chamberlain, who has been made a Knight of tlie Garter. It had been surmised that, like his late father, he would he averse to a title. Most of the papers had predicted thai he would accept the Order of . tevit. lint' the conferring of a knighthood of tho darter is acclaimed as a fitting recognition uf Ims high-minded course at the Locarno Conference. The honour conferred upon Sir Austen's wife. Dame Ivy. is a happy remembrance of her birthday outing with the delegates at Locarno nn a motor yacht.
