EARLY MORNING SMASH.

CAR HITS SAFETY-ZONE. A motor car owned and driven by Frederick Cuthbert Foley, of Ardmore Road, Ponsonby, crashed into a safety zone near the corner of Customs Street East and Queen Street at about 1.45 o'clock this morning. A front mudguard and lamp were crushed into the side of the radiator. The car was put out of action and had to be left on the roadside until 9 a.m. to-day, when it was removed to a garage. It was raining heavily at the time ef the accident.
