AFTER 26 YEARS' SERVICE. MR. C. P. SKERRETT APPOINTED. (By Telegraph.—Tress Association.) WELLINGTON, Sunday. The Chief Justice, .Sir Robert Stout, lias intimated to the Government his intention to tender his resignation, to take effect on February 1 next. The Government has offered the appointment of Chief Justice to Mr. C. P. Skerrett, K.C., of Wellington, and has been advised of Mr. Skerrett's acceptance of the office.
