BOWLING TUITION.
DEMONSTRATION BY CARLTON CLUB. MR. F. LAURENSON'S SYSTEM. Great interest was . evidenced in tne first demonstration of the art of delivery, stance, etc., by Mr. F. Laurenson, at the Carlton Club's pavilion last evening, there being a large attendance of members. The tuition takes place of an evening inside the pavilion, felt being laid on the floor, to prevent injury tc the bowls; in fact the tuition is so simple and effective that a bowler may quickly acquire an easy attitude, corect stance, comfort in delivery, which is the essentia] foundation in attaining efficiencj'. Errors are so easily corrected that % a player ma 3' perfect himself in these features in his own home, so that the tuition does not interfere with his play when he comes on the ground. For beginners this is undoubtedly of great advantage, as they begin with an orthodox system, which means that young bowlers who will be our future champions will realise that it is not an old man's game. This system .vas adopted by Mr. Laurenson in Palmerston North for three seasons for tAvo months before opening of the season to break in new players.' The result Avas that Manawatu, practically a youn°- club carried everything before it for three years. These classes will be carried on every Thursday evening, and as the season progresses the different phases of bowling will be dealt with. Mr. Laurenson was for some time the champion player at Palmerston North. He has come to reside in Auckland, and has joined the Carlton Club!
