The criminal sessions of the Supreme Court which commenced' on October 27 have not yet been completed. The list of actions outside the purely criminal eases have been particularly heavy, and although two judges were sitting for over three weeks the list is still well filled. That may be accounted for by the fact that a great number of the civil actions'have extended over two or more days. There' was no sitting of the Court to-day owing to the fact that Mr. Justice Reed left last night to take the sessions at Gisborne, and Mr. Justice Herdman is in Hamilton. The Chief Justice, Sir Robert Stout, will conduct the sessions from Monday.
