THE FLOWER SHOW.
A LARGE ATTENDANCE. MUCH ADMIRED -EXHIBITS. The gorgeous exhibits at the Auckland Horticultural Society's show in the Newmarket Borough Hall attracted a large attendance both yesterday and to-day, while the crowd last night must have been very gratifying to the committee. The district courts, and especially the Southern court, which annexed the prize, were greatly admired, and officials of the society were heartily congratulated on the best display made in many years. The show is a credit to the society, and in particular to the chairman, Mr. J. Wernham, and the secretary, Mr. F. R. Gallaghan, to whose earnest work very much of the success is due, for they have worked with an energy and an enthusiasm which is deserving of all praise. The following were the judges.—Roses and pansics ; Mr. G. Mills and Mr. T. Wilson; carnations, Mr. I. Lomas ; sweet peas, Mr.! ' Dodds; cut flowers, Mr. G.
