BODY IN A TRUNK.
(By Telegraph.—Own correspondent.) WANGANUI, this day. The "Herald's" Mangaweka correspondent, supplies further particulars of the finding of the dead body of a baby in a trunk on Wednesday afternoon. It in stated that the mother is single and about 30 years of age. She came to NewZealand nine months ago from the OKI Country to work for some Mangaweka people she had known at Home. She, was engaged in domestic duties and assisting to milk some cows. The bnbv was born during the night in her room, after which it was placed in a tin trunk.
The youn<? woman got up at the usual hour in the morning, went "out nud milked the cows, and later worked about the hou&c. After a rest in the afternoon she went out again and commence! milking but through exhaustion fell on the floor of the cowshed. Ihc wife ot her employer later found the dead body of the child in the trunk. The policy were communicated with, and the you,,.* woman was convoyed to the railing Hospital, where she i≤ making goos progress. ,
