Senior matches at King's College ground, Mangere, and at North Shore. The V.R.C. meeting concludes "tomorrow at Flemington with the C. B. Fisher Plate and the VJEI.C. Handicap as the principal events. Guy Fawkes celebrations last night ended without any untoward incidents in the city and suburbs in the shape of fires and burning mishaps. A commission will sit at Home to ascertain if old age, widows, and other pensions, or State aid prevents people from emigrating to the Dominions. One hundred and seven seamen of the Matakana and Waimana, who were imprisoned some weeks ago, were re» leased from Mt. Eden gaol to-day, their terms having expired. A.R.C. spring meeting at Ellerslie to-morrow and Monday. The chief item on the programme to-morrow ia the Mitcheflson Cup, while the Great Northern Guineas and Welcome Stakes will also be run. Christclnlrch racing carnival opens at Riccarton to-morrow, when the New Zealand Cup will be run. Racing will be continued on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday of next week, while thai New Zealandl Metropolitan Trotting Club's meeting will be held on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
