PERSIAN SHAH DEPOSED.

PRIME MINISTER TO RULE. o TEHERAN, November 1. The Persian Parliament (the Medjliss) has adopted a resolution by a majority ■ of 80 votes, for the sake of the national welfare, to depose the ruling Kajar dynasty, and to give the temporary Government, within the constitutional national laws, to the Prime Minister, the Sardar Seoah, Reza Khan. j The National Assembly is to have constitutional power to decide on a per- , manent Government by changing certain articles in the Constitution. This means tbat tbe Shah, who is at present living in Paris, is deposed. A message from Paris says the Shah, who is residing at the Hotel Majestic, expressed no surprise when he was informed of the news of his deposition. He has lately given up his vistis to race- } courses and night restaurants, and has been living in comparative quietude. The Shah's secretary stated that His Majesty had long been of the oninion that his return to Persia would be illadvised.— (Reuter.) The Shah from all accounts of him in English and American papers is a somewhat simple-minded nnd effeminate-look-ing young man who would anpear more at home with a croquet mallet than a sceptre. His inability to rule and bis desire not to do so may have been the besrinning of the tendency in Pers'a to modernise institutions. The Shah has for years lived out of Persia, nnd is addicted to those modern delitrbts tbat pro so pronounced a feature of the life of Deauville. Sardar Sepab is apparently the sfroncr si'ent man of Persia—a lesser M" e solmi. who is possibly glad that the Shah is much -more at home in Monte Carlo than in Teheran.
