THE BALLOT PAPERS.
DIRECTIONS FOR MARKING. Electors should be particularly careful in the manner of marking their ballot papers when they go to the poll. frYron"marking may render the vote void. = In voting for a candidate for one of the electorates, supposing the candidates are:— Smith, Brown, Robinson, the elector will strike out the namee of the two candidates for whom he does not wiah to vote by drawing a line through the names with pen or pencil. The voter must take care not to leave uncancelled the name of more than one candidate. The ballot paper is to be folded up after marking, so that its contents cannot be seen, and, having shown the official mark on £he back to the returning officer, it is to be put into f the ballot box by the voter. The paper is not to be taken out of the booth. THE RESTORATION POLL. The paper for voting for or against the restoration of licenses in "dry" districts, such as, for instance, Eden, Roskill, and Grey Lynn, will contain the lines t — I Vote For Local Restoration. I Vote For Jfo-License. The voter must strike out the proposal for which, he does not intend to vote. THE PROHIBITION POLL. The ballot papers on the Prohibition issue will bear the lines:— I Vote for National Continuance. I Vote For State Purchase and Control. I Vote For National Prohibition. On this paper the voter must strike out two proposals. The vote will be recorded in favour of the proposal not struck out. If the voter strikes out all, or only one, or none, of the three proposals, the- voting paper will be void, and his vote will not be recorded. The issues are clearly set forth, the directions are simple, and there should be no room for mistake oh the part of any elector. : '
