BROKEN STIRRUP.
ELDERLY MAN'S DEATH. Through the breaking of a stirrup leather while driving a bull an elderly settler of Onewhero, Mr. Charles Adams Henderson, was thrown from his horse, and died last Sunday. Death resulted about ten hours after the accident from the rupture of a blood vessel on the brain. Born at Lyttelton in 1855, Mr. Henderson was 70 years of age, and had been at Onewhero since 1912. When he was a boy of ten he came North, had been at Featherston for thirty years, and subsequently had dairy farms'at Rahotu and Opunake. He was an active farmer until two or three years ago. Mr. Henderson is survived by his widow, twosons (Messrs. R. J. A. and 11. C. Henderson) and one daughter (Mrs. D. (iarrity, of Grey Lynn.) He was a much respected settler of the district.
