AUSTRALIAN MINERS.
A FEDERATION PROPOSAL. (Received 10.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. The Coal Miners' Federal Council Conference decided in favour of linking up with the International Miners' Organisation, of which Mr- Frank Hodges, M.P., is president, with a view to securing international action should circumstances require it.— (A. and N.Z. Cable.) N.S.W. COAL TRIBUNAL. (Received 1 p.m.) SYDNEY, this day. The Coal Tribunal made a uew award for miners throughout Commonwealth. They refused the demand for a minimum wage of £5 10/ weekly, and rejected the claim for the reduction of working hours. They awarded an increase of 1/ti daily to miners in receipt of the present daily minimum rate. — (A. and N.Z.)
