BOWLING.
MOUNT ALBERT OPENING. The official opening of the Mount Albert i Bowling Club took place this afternoon in j the presence of a large assembly of visiting bowlers. The president (Mr. W. ,T. Holdsi worth) in his opening remarks extended a hearty welcome to all visitors, and referred to the great progress the club had made during the last few seasons, as evidenced by the handsome new pavilion which was opened last Wednesday: also to the great increase in membership this season. Twenty-five new members had been elected. j The president of the Auckland centre (Mr. IJ. Pascoe) was present, and complimented the club on its present position. Sir James Parr, patron of the club, was also present, and wished the club every success. After the green was declared open, Mrs. Holds- , worth threw the first jack.
