SOUTHERN WHALING
OPENING OF THE SEASON. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) DUNEDIN, this day. That preparations are being made for another whaling season in the Southern Seas is indicated by word of the Norwegian whaler Sir* James Clark Ross having returned south. For the past few days she has been reported as within call of Awarua wireless station in Southland. The Union Company's Karori has left Westport with coal 'for the Sir James Clark Ross.
