HAPPY OLD IRELAND.
THE GOOD NEW DATS. MR. COSGRAVX'S JOY. PARIS, October 15. The President of the Irish Free State Dail (Mr. W. T. Cosgrave) is in Paris, en route to Rome, with 800 Irish pilgrims.
In an interview, he said that thanks to the beneficent treaty of 1921, Ireland's long nightmare had been dissipated. Although he might be suspected of presenting too idyllic a picture, he could say there was no country in Europe more calm than Ireland was to-day.
Crime was rare. It was not known what Communism perils were They had ceased to recognise the report of a gunshot— (A. and X.Z. Cable.)
