BEHAVIOUR ON THE BEACHES.

SUPERVISION ASKED FOR. TO ENSURE "SEEMLY CONDUCT." "Will the council exercise its authority during the coming season to secure seemly behaviour at the beaches, and that the by-laws in this connection, Including the wearing of the Canadian bathing costume, be rigidly enforced; also that some supervision at beaches be enforced."

This was the request made of the City Council last night by the National Council of Women of New Zealand.

On the recommendation of the Parks Committee it was resolved to ask the Police Department to enforce the provisions of the by-law affecting the matters mentioned.
