The Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., report:—To-day at our weekly Westfiold fr.t stock market beef was penned in more than average numbers, and showed an easing tendency on last week's sale 3. Extra choice ox sold to 49/ per 1001b; choice and prime ox, 44/ to 48/; ordinary and plain ox, £1 IS/ to £2 3/; prime young cow and heifer beef, 41/ to 45/; ordinary cow beef, 30/ to 40/; rough beef, 28/ to 35/; heavy prime steers, £19 to £21 2/6; lighter prime steers, £10 to £18 15/; light prime steers, £14 10/ to £15 15/; unfinished and small £12 to £14; heavy prime young cows and heifers, £12 to £13 10/; lighter, £9 10/ to £12 15-/; light cows, £0 15/ to £9 5/; bulls, £4 to £8; other cows, £3 15/ to £6 10/.
Dalgety and Company report: "At our weekly Westfield fat stock market to-day there was a heavy yarding of good cattle, prices being somewhat easier. Extra choice ox sold to £2 9/ per 1001b; choice and prime ox, £2 4/ to £2 "!/• other, £1 16/ to £2 3/; prime young cow and heifer beef sold at £2 5/; other cow beef, £1 18/ to £2 2/."
