HIDE AND SKINS AUCTION.
« MARKET BATHER DULL. At the auction sale of hides and sheep skins this afternoon in the Chamber of Commerce, bidding was not too brisk. Salted sheep skins were easier, many lots being passed in. Quotations were:—Sheepskins: Dry. half to threequarter fine wool up to 12Jd. medium to 10} per lb. coarse OJd. half wool 9d. short to quarter wool "JdSalted sheep skins, heavy to 10/. medium 5/ to 7/6. pelts 2/3. Hides: —Heavy ox Bid to 9Jd. medium 7Jd to Sd. light 6d to 6id per lb. Cow. heavy 6Jd to 6}d, light 6d to (Ud. poor and faulty 4d to sd. Calf skins sold readily, best from 13} dto 13»d per lb. others 10d to lid per lb.
