INCREASED RECEIPTS. LN EXCESS OF ESTIMATES. The rash receipts for September amounted to ±27.205. showing an increase uf £3236 over those of September, 1024, reported the superintendent at to-day's meeting of the Auckland Harbour Board. Details are as follows :—Rents, £201" ; goods wharfage. £12,0:24 : vehicular tolls, £252 ; shipping charges, £4650 : »«ane duos, £3526 : doi'k nnil slipway dues, £303 ; storage of goods. £1894 : lighting wharves, electric £603 r water supply, £yo ; miscellaneous, £770 : £27.205. The receipts for the nine months amounted to 277.502, which, is an inereae* , of £31,606 over those of the corresponding period of 1924. The receipts for the Manukau Harbonr for September amounted to £434. which shows a decrease of £106 over those of September. 1924. The receipts for the nine months amounted to £4956, which Is an increase of £383 over those of the corresponding period of 1924. The receipts for the nine months have exceeded the estimates by the sum of £12.204. ARRIVALS AXD DEPARTURES. ' The following report on shipping j arrivals, departures, towages. dockings, : etc.. for the month of September 1923, was also presented by the superintendent : The arrivals consisted of two Royal Mall steamers, eighteen oversea steamers, fifteen intercolonial or island traders, twentyfour coastal steamers one oversea sailing vessel, together with 386 local coastal vessels, milking a grand total of 84*> vessels of 303.010 gross tons and 196.6R0 net tons as follows:—Oversea. 351.174 cross. '.14.44S net ; intercolonial 45.5(il gross. 29.290 net : coastal. 127.620 gross, f>7.287 net : deck cargo. 5655 gross. 5600 net. Totals : 333,010 gross ; 196,650 not. As compared with corresponding period for last year the large, merchant shipping shows a 'decrease of three vessels, but an increase of 2559 gross tons and 6440 net tons. The local coastal vessels' returns show a decrease of SO vessels, 2015 gross tons, and 2802 net tons. The departures consisted of three Royal Mai! steamers, twelve oversea steamers, j fourteen intercolonial or island traders, I twenty-three coastal steamers, together j with 593 local coastal vessels, mating a grand total of 647 vessels of 275,661 gross tons, and 158.273 net tons as follows : Oversea, 108.664 gross. 67,135 net; intercolonial, 51.847 31.373 net; coastal. 113,150 gross, 50.765 net. Totals: 275,661 gross; 158.273 net. During the whole of the month of September shipping has been considerably disorganised through the seamen's strike and at the end of the month there were six large oversea steamers moored in the. ! harbonr (including the S.B. Waimana fully loaded with produce for London), awaiting a settlement, or crews to take them away. The services of the Board's pilo-ts havi , been engaged by 23 vessels of 93,709 net tons inwards, and by J6 vessels of 67,854 net tons outwards. There were also in removals of 45.691 net tons. Calliope Dock haa been engaged for 17 days by nltu! vessels of 11,513 net tons. ■ MAXCKAI" lIARBOI'R. The arrivals at Onehunga consisted of 27 vessels with an aggregate of 16.710 gross tons, and 7193 net tons. Compared with last year, this shows an increase of j one vessel* 722 gross tons, and 169 net I tons. The departures consisted of 27 [ vessels, with an aggregate o£ 16.202 gross tons, and C9SO net tons. Compared with last year, this shows a decrease of four vessels, 1976 gross tons, and 1000 net tons. Manukau Bar was workable each day of tiie month, with the exception of the Oth ami '.14th. when it was workable inwards only, ami tiie 20th. 21st and 26th. when it was unworkable either inwards ur outwards.
