I Coates, telegraphed as follows: "Recogi nising as I do the great debt we owe to i the courageous and hard-working pioneers who laid the foundations of our present development and prosperity. I wish to extend my very warmest greetI ings to all who are privileged to be present at the reunion and to offer my congratulations to the founders of your j association* some of whom I am glad to ; see are stiM able to attend the functions. ! Please accept my best wishes for a successful anc enjoyable gathering."' Messages of greeting, congratulation and good wishes were also received from j the Governor-General. Sir Charles Fergusson. and Sir Robert Stout. Chief Justice, both of whom expressed their regret at being unable to be present.
