DAIRY FINANCE.

BANKS RELAX RESTRICTIONS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, Monday. It is understood the restriction imposed by the associated banks on dairy factories in regard to the payout for September toutterfat has been withdrawn in view of the improved situation regarding the shipment of produce. It had been proposed to restrict the payout on October 20 to 1/3 per pound for butterfat. This would have involved serious loss, as factories have been paying out 1/8. It is understood that most cheese factories in Central Taranaki at any rate will pay out at the rate of 1/6 next Tuesday. The associated banks have decided, owing to the improved shipping outlook, not to Testrict the payout to dairy factory suppliers to 1/3 per pound for 'butterfat this month, as was decided last Friday. The position will be reviewed before November payout. The above Information contained in these telegrams will be welcomed in local dairy circles, although the former decision of the banks was not operative in Auckland, by reason of the fact that the whole of the province's September output was loaded and dispatched by the Ruahine. Suppliers in the meantime are being advanced about 1/6 per lb. A local merchant pointed out to a "Star" representative that the real danger caused by the seamen's strike to the New Zealand dairy industry will not be apparent until next year, when the delay in obtaining available tonnage will probably result in the bulk of the Dominion's butter supply landing on the English mnwr simultaneously with the spring supphes of the Northern Hemisphere.
